Well, I've been so busy lately that I've not had a chance to finish the last post in the Overcoming Sin series. I'll get back to it eventually. I've also got a series to come that will be (hopefully) bold, and informative about the churches of Christ. Look for it sometime relatively soon.
Currently, two other brothers and I are teaching a Bible class through an overview of Jeremiah. I think it's tons of fun to co-teach a Bible class. I remember my dad co-teaching Bible classes for years at LaVergne Church of Christ with the late and beloved brother Vester Waldron, who was a long-time elder in the church, and other brothers as well. I used to love listening to talk about how the class had gone in the car on the way home from church services. Believe it or not it made me fantasize about how great it would be to be in adult Bible classes, maybe even as a teacher, when I grew up. It's usually as good as I dreamed it would be. God's word is so fascinating and relevant to life! The older I get the more I realize how much effect the little moments in life have on us.
I'm also serving as facilitator for a class/support group that's reading/listening through the Bible in 90 days this Fall. We're using the material published by Zondervan as a discussion starter each week. I thought I'd leave you with a quote from the material today:
If we asked God if he’s given us enough time to read the Bible in 90 days, perhaps he’d answer by saying, “Yes, I have given you 24 hours in a day.” The question is not really whether we have the time, but how we choose to use it.
Think about it, and may God bless you!
